Cake Batter Protein Balls

These high protein and sugar-free protein balls have become a regular brekkie on-the-go option in our house.

I’m all about mindful eating and taking your time at meals but mornings can be quite the circus in our house so sometimes homemade fast food is a necessity, especially if I’ve exercised in the morning.

I’ve spoken a lot about the importance of protein for improving energy, stabilising blood sugar levels, reducing sugar cravings, regulating mood, supporting a fat burning metabolic state, supporting healthy hormone production and enhancing fertility. Most women benefit from approximately 30 grams of protein per meal. You can read more about why you NEED protein at every meal/snack here.

These protein balls legit taste like raw cake batter!

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons collagen
2 tablespoons ghee
1 tsp cinnamon
2 pinches salt
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
3 tablespoons oats
2 heaped tablespoons cashew butter (peanut butter also works)
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
3 heaped tablespoons almond meal
Optional but delicious - 80 grams of dark chocolate, roughly chopped

Method:

Blitz all ingredients in a high speed blender except chocolate. Gently stir the chocolate through. Roll into 10-12 balls and pop in the freezer to ‘set’ for 10 mins. Enjoy!

1 serve is 3 protein balls and gives you about 28-30 grams of protein!
