Wait… what exactly is homeopathy?
Close your eyes and imagine Australia just over 100 years ago… we had thriving homeopathic hospitals scattered all over the country!
The first homeopathic hospital was The Melbourne Homeopathic Hospital established in 1876 (later named as Prince Henry’s Hospital). Then homeopathic hospitals were throughout Australia, including Sydney, Adelaide Hobart and other cities. These hospitals were thriving and operated successfully for over 60 years until the orthodox medical establishments were established and there was an opposition against natural, simple and affordable medicine.
Homeopathy is not new, in fact, it’s the second largest form of medicine in the world! It’s been used for over 200 years to treat a number of diseases and imbalances. The word homeopathy means 'like suffering'…
Homeopathy is based on the principle of ‘Like cures like’, which means that a substance that is capable of causing is also capable of curing in a healthy person. Let’s go deeper - take Ritalin, for example…If an adult or child is experiencing ADHD signs and symptoms, such as hyperactivity, Ritalin can calm them, however, if a child or adult that’s quite stable takes Ritalin, it can cause hyperactivity. This is a great example to show that a substance that’s capable of causing is also capable of curing.
Another example is coffee. Boy do I love coffee! So believe me, I’m not here to bag coffee out! For me, when I have coffee in the morning it helps me with feeling awake, alert and stimulated. Yet, if someone that has sleep issues at night where they feel wired, jittery and alert, then coffee in a homeopathic preparation, can calm them. This again, shows the cause-effect relationship.
What does the science say about homeopathy?
Let’s take a look at a popular homeopathic remedy - Arnica. Most of us have heard of Arnica - it’s become widely available in chemists, health food stores and even some first aid kits. Did you know Arnica is amazing for soft tissue injuries, bruising, trauma, shock, swelling and to speed up recovery - any bump, cut, graze, injury, swelling and pain may benefit from Arnica!
Arnica is referred to (time and time again) in medical literature and peer-reviewed medical journals because it's been proven to be as effective as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (but without side effects and the cost!). You can read about the scientific studies and data here.
Did you know that number one flu medication in france, Oscillococcinum, is a homeopathic preparation? And what’s really interesting is, France is ranked number one as having the best heatlcare in the world (WHO), and 80% of medical physicians in France prescribe homeopathy. Homeopathy really is the medicine of the past and the medicine of the future.
I offer three types of homeopathic support
Acute support
First aid kits that gives you 20 remedies for common childhood/family ailments like anxiety, colds, flu, cough, cravings, cuts, bites, bruises, digestive issues - bloating and constipation, gastro, headaches, worms and joint pain.
I have offered these homeopathic kits for over ten years now.
My goal is for you to become the expert in your own health and by having a homeopathic kit on-hand your natural medicine cabinet allows you to use natural medicine before, and perhaps instead of, antibiotics, Panadol and over the counter medication.
2. Chronic illness or dis-ease support
Constitutional remedies for chronic diseases and ongoing health issues - we have a 1:1 homeopathic consultation through the RESTORE program, which includes an initial consultation, follow up consultation, email support and your homeopathic medicines (that are posted to you).
It is suitable for any chronic or ongoing health issue such as hormone imbalances, fertility issues, pregnancy and postpartum support, fatigue, anxiety, depression, gut issues, skin issues (such as eczema, psoriasis and molluscum), hayfever, immune dysfunction and autoimmune disease.
3. Fertility program
This is a 4-month fertility protocol to boost your fertility through stimulating ovulation, improving cervical mucus, balancing hormones, and improving sperm health, while also addressing and clearing your potential toxic load, clearing genetic weakness, and supporting your health + vitality.
What’s included in the 4 month fertility program:
A couple's initial consultation - this often takes 90 minutes and includes a thorough health history, including your medical history, family history, dietary preferences, dietary review, emotional + mental health history, etc. This takes place online (through Telehealth, Zoom or phone), or at the clinic in Bowral.
A personalised health plan, which includes nutritional recommendations, naturopathic approaches and homeopathic medicine prescriptions (this is emailed to you within 2-3 business days of your consultation)
A fertility kit - this includes 8-10 personally prescribed homeopathic remedies to suit you. The homeopathic medicines and shipping is included in the consultation fee. Your homeopathic kit will last you for 4 months.
3 x follow-up consultations - this are usually spaced 4 weeks between your consultations. These enable us to review your changes and progress and build on your nutrition knowledge, naturopathic approach and lifestyle medicine. These consultations are online only, through Telehealth, Zoom or phone.
